What Causes Acne?

The main reason for teenage acne is the body’s production of excessive amounts of hormones. These hormones make the skin oily and oil clogs your pores and cause pimples.

Not taking good care of your skin. Although this is not the main reason for acne, the truth is you must wash and cleanse your face at least twice a day to keep your skin clean.

How to Treat Your Teenage Acne?

Wash your face twice a day

To reduce oil production, you must wash your face twice a day with a mild cleanser. Avoid using soaps because they are too dry for skin; the ingredients in soap can clog pores.

Exfoliate

One of the main reasons why acne appear is because of the dead skin cells blocking the pores. That’s why it’s really important to exfoliate and clear the dead skin cells. Use a product which contains salicylic acid (BHA) because BHA exfoliates inside your pores and kills bacteria.

Use SPF

Skin cannot heal acne if it’s exposed to daily sun damage. Always apply sunscreen with SPF 15 because it will accelerate the healing process for acne. This way you’ll also protect your skin from further damage.

Squeeze them carefully

It’s impossible to leave blemishes alone, but over-squeezing can cause scarring and make everything look worse. Learn to squeeze your pimples the right way, that’s the only way they’ll start healing.

Some extra tips:

– Change your pillowcase weakly to avoid sleeping on fabric that might have sebum and bacteria.

– Keep your hair clean and out of your face, to prevent forehead pimples.

– If you get acne on your body, wear cotton and not too tight clothes. You must allow your skin to breath.

– Always remove your makeup before going to bed.

– Always wash your hands first before applying anything to your face.
