6 Tips for Surviving the First Trimester of Pregnancy

1. Find a Doctor or Midwife

It’s essential to set up your first doctor’s appointment soon after discovering you are pregnant. At this first appointment, your provider will check your blood, confirm your pregnancy and be able to answer any questions you have.

2. Get a Lot of Rest

It’s very common to feel exhausted during your pregnancy. Changing hormones and the fact that your body is providing energy to create a new life can leave you feeling like sleep is the only thing on your mind. Make sure you get enough rest at night by going to bed earlier than your previous routine. Taking naps on the weekends and even during lunch breaks helps you get added restoration to get through the day and week.

3. Stay Hydrated

6. Beware of Smells

Changing hormones affect the way you respond to smells. What used to smell good may make you nauseous. Pay attention to the smell of cooking foods, trash and air fresheners that may not sit well with you. Air out your home by opening windows and doors.
