Women Health Issues that Don’t Get Talked Enough

Health issues are normal and there is nothing to be amazed about. There is multitude of health concerns all across the globe that we are aware of. However, there is a wide variety of other concerns that people don’t talk about. Unfortunately, women health issues are the most ignored in this era.

It is imperative that women health issues are brought into limelight and talked about. People belonging to whatever gender, class or social category must recognize the problems. From heart diseases to different types of pelvic pain, there is a lot to talk about. Here are some the issues listed:

  1. Heart issues

There is a misconception that heart diseases primarily target men. This is not the case at all. Heart diseases equally target women and we need to raise awareness about this concern. Common symptoms of heart attacks like irregular heartbeat, crushing pain and shortness of breath must be told to women as well. They need to understand the prevalence of this disease in women in order to tackle it effectively.

  1. Sexual health concerns

This is something that we might know about but fail to take action due to social stigmas. There are a number of consequences that women have to face due to lack of discussion. Endometriosis is one of the diseases that women are not much aware about. Conditions that are related to sexual intercourse are also normal. Unfortunately, people do not talk much about it due to social reasons. It needs to be addresses as soon as possible.

  1. Mental health concerns

Domestic abuse is one of the most common criminal offences in all parts of the world. There is no doubt that it can have a negative physical impact on women but the mental impacts are long-lasting. Unfortunately, the patriarchal mindset has led to believing that these things are not be talked about. Mental health issues like chronic depression, anxiety and stress-related diseases must be tackled in order to treat women with equal dignity and integrity.

  1. Maternal health concerns

Reports have proved that maternal health concerns are very normal. This is something to be treated with urgency. Healthy pregnancy is important. Awareness needs to be spread in relation to the steps we must take in order to treat pregnancy as an important issue. Maternal deaths have now increased in the past few years. Not only the medical professionals need to address this issue but public in general must raise awareness about related issues.

Above are some of the issues that women face and we not talk about it often. Even though it is not an exhaustive list, it contains most of the problems that women in society tend to face. The first step towards eliminating these issues is spreading awareness. It must be then dealt with in a consistent manner by not only women organizations and health institutions but public as well. Given the prevalence of the concerns, it is imperative to act with urgency.
