We All Need a Bad Hair and Makeup Day Sometimes-This Ideal Job Allows For Just That!

If before you get behind your desk, you like to make sure your lips are coated in your favorite gloss and your hair is looking good, you probably just love leaving your home looking your best or your job involves lots of face to face time with customers.

You probably aren’t a transcriber though. Why do we say that? Well, we are transcribers! We’ve been there, done it, and continue to wear the (sometimes unironed) T-shirt.

That sexy, teased out to perfection hair won’t remain looking its best if you’re using a specialist headset in your work as a transcriber. You rely on those for the best sound quality possible that will help you perform transcriptions more accurately. You’ll be more concerned about messing up your transcriptions than you will be messing up your hair.

Bad Hair Days Will Go Unnoticed

We’ve all made mistakes with our hair, haven’t we ladies? Cut our own fringe with disastrous results, not let the hair dye take full effect before washing it out or held our hair a little longer than we should burning some of our hair in the process.

We’ve even had bad trips to the hairdresser too. Although in a normal working environment, these problems can be catastrophic and can cause problems, for transcribers they easily become a distant memory. You have all the time in the word to correct these kinds of problems when work if finished, and as no-one will be concerned with how you look during work, you are able to just concentrate and get on with the job at hand.

Monstrous Make-up Mishaps are Okay

We’ve all experienced those times when we’ve messed up our makeup, haven’t we? Smudged eye shadow, lipstick on your teeth, more black eyeliner than is necessary for ten women and mascara brush slips are all accidents that we’re familiar with.

While a job in a busy workplace or involving direct contact with the public means that you have to be extra careful to avoid these mistakes, the same is not true when you work as a transcriber.  No-one, apart from a small number of people that perhaps share your office, will ever see you’ve made those beauty faux pas. Most transcribers usually work alone anyway, as this improves accuracy and concentration. Qualities that are more important in that line of work than how you look.

Not Ghastly Monsters

All transcribers, even if it’s not during their working hours, can be just as glamorous as individuals in other fields.  For instance, the girl working at listening to pieces and transcribing them could, for all you know, be the next Cara Delevingne.  At work, they are more concerned about giving their all and ensuring they provide accurate transcriptions for their clients.

So, when you receive something from a transcriber, don’t jump to conclusions and think of them as being stereotypically ghastly, think of them as intelligent, well-groomed that can still look their best, even, if they don’t always during business hours. For the ladies that haven’t run for the hills at the thought of makeup not perfectly in place, transcription could be the perfect job for you.

If you’re a solid, accurate writer with an enjoyment for perfection of the written word rather than for your hair on a daily basis, the club of transcribers could be the perfect fit. Something to consider if you’re looking seriously at a career change.
