A Swan Hugs The Man Who Rescued Her and Shows Him Affection

Swans are quite territorial and intimidating and that’s why it’s weird to see any affection coming from them. This was a sight that can’t be seen every day and everyone was shocked and touched when an injured swan hugged the host of the TV show “Born to Explore”, Richard Wiese.

A few years ago, Richard visited the U.K Abbotsbury Swannery. While being there, he ran into an injured swan. The swan injured herself while flying into a chain-link fence. Richard helped the vets examine the swan and held her during the process.

“When I put it next to me, I could feel its heart beating and it just relaxed its neck and wrapped it around mine. It’s a wonderful moment when an animal totally trusts you. It’s a really terrific feeling when you feel that bond and mutual trust with this non-verbally communicating animal, when the animal realizes you intend it no harm,” said Richard.
