Stop Your Hiccups by Pressing These Points on Your Body

Hiccups can be annoying and unpleasant and they even cause nausea and vomiting in some people. Hiccups are caused by uncontrolled diaphragm spasm which mainly happens after drinking sodas, alcohol, eating fast food, sudden temperature changes, excitement, etc.

It often lasts less than 1 hour and it disappears slowly. There are some methods you can use to stop the hiccups like holding your breath, drinking water etc.

We’re giving you other methods that can help you get rid of your hiccups really fast. All you need to do is to press one of these 4 spots on your body:


1. Face Point

Place your finger on the area between your upper lip and nose. Press the center of that spot and push towards your teeth. Apply pressure for 20-30 seconds.

2. Chest Point

Locate the bone on your chest that connects your ribs. Once you find it, use your fingers to trace it until you find where it ends. Apply some pressure on the end of the bone. Don’t use too much pressure and don’t do it more than 30 seconds.

3. Abdomen Point

Follow the line between your belly button and pubic bone with your fingers. The pressure point is located in the center of that line. Press it with your fingers towards the spine and hold for 20-30 seconds.

4. Hand Point

Make a fist and you will notice two outlined vessels on the inside of the forearm. Close to the wrist you will see a dent. The point of pressure is located between the vessels which is located about 2 widths of your thumb to the elbow. Press this point for 20-30 seconds.
