Richie has been a feral cat for 10 years, living from people’s mercy. People were always feeding him, but he never let anyone touch him. One day, Richie got ill and started to get thinner. The people who constantly fed this old cat tried to catch him to take him to the vet but he didn’t let anyone near. He even stopped coming for food and no one could find him.
“He lived a happy life as a feral cat. He was fluffy and so clean. He had a few humans who were feeding him daily. He was coming also under my window waiting. I could only talk with him but never touch him. When he stopped coming I knew something had happened to him. One day I noticed a thin and dirty cat waiting near my window. I rushed to see what is with the poor kitty, ” said the woman who noticed the poor cat was Richie.
“He walked up to me, he let me take him in my arms ”, explains Richie’s rescuer.
The woman took Richie to the vet. The cat was full of fleas, dirty and dehydrated. He wasn’t good at all and even the vet didn’t know if he would survive. Richie needed a lot of medicines and fluid therapy.
After spending a couple of weeks at the vet’s office, Richie was getting better. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with a tumor in his mouth and he can’t live on the streets anymore.
Luckily, Richie got a new human and now lives with her in their gorgeous home.
“He needed a few baths to get rid of the oil from his fur. We don’t know how he ended up with so much oil on him. He let me wash him, it was like he felt it was good for him. He doesn’t totally trust me yet but he is happy! I can cuddle him and he feels safe. He will have now so much love and no more worries. We are happy we could help him and offer him a better life now that he is old,” said Richie’s human.
