As host of AFTERBUZZ TV featuring American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance and World Of Dance, Kim Davey became an international sensation with her poised charm, intelligence, dedication and commitment. From interviewing A-List celebrities on the red carpet to moderating panel discussions, this gifted host has engaging viewers from all over the world wrapped around her finger.
With a strong background in dance performance and theatre, Kim launched NZ Dance Network in 2013. She offered regional dance workshops, dance classes and overseas dance tours to help NZ dancers follow their dreams.
Kim states, “As a young girl, I was passionate about dance, theater and television, but when it came time to choose a career, I heard that tired refrain – you can’t make a living in the arts – so I became a lawyer instead. After graduating, I lasted only 7 weeks in a law firm before realizing I wasn’t being true to myself.”
And so, she found herself. Within the last ten years, Kim found her passion and purpose in her love of performing arts, traveling and personal development. This led to the establishment of her business that was committed to empowering dancers to live out their full potential. As a TV host and presenter, her work has enabled her to gain an extensive following. Her success has earned her well deserving awards, such as Rock Your Business NZ and the Global Entrepreneur X-Factor Competition.
It didn’t stop there. Kim knew her mission was to inspire and instill self confidence in young women in every continent. This ushered a launch of World Class Dance Tours alongside her desire to take the concept global. Following its success, Kim knew she had to power and encouragement from the next generation and launched She Shines On to empower, inspire and boost confidence in dancers worldwide.
As soon as Kim decided to make a change, not only for herself, but for everyone that shares the same passion, her career took off. Within this short amount of time, she has travelled to all seven continents to assemble personal development training, which allowed her to create the life she dreamt of. Being a resident of Los Angeles led her to pursuing a career in TV.
