How to Make Your Own Oregano Oil

Oregano oil is the most effective natural antibiotic. Oregano is a natural pain-killer and has anti-inflammatory properties. It can help you fight infections, inflammations and reduce pain. Here’s how to make your own, homemade oil:



  • ½ cup fresh oregano
  • ½ cup olive oil


Thoroughly wash and dry the oregano. Put the oregano in a plastic bag and cover the bag with a towel. Pound the bag to release the oil from the oregano. Heat the olive oil until it gets warm. Put the oil into the bag with the oregano and squeeze the mixture. Pour the mixture into a jar and place it somewhere cold and dark for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, strain the mixture and keep the clear liquid in a small, glass bottle.

Uses for Oregano Oil

Sore throat, Colds, Digestive problems, Sinus congestion

– Add a few oregano oil drops to a glass of water and drink it. For sinus congestion you can rub oregano oil on your sinuses.

Arthritis, Sore muscles, Pain

– Massage the affected area with oregano oil. This will relieve pain and reduce inflammation.

Note: When pregnant do not use oil of oregano!
