How to Dry Thick Hair Without a Blow Dryer

Using a blow dryer may damage the hair that was once admirable. Drying the hair naturally could be one of the other options, but this will depend on the length and the type of the hair.

For long hairs, it takes longer to dry them contrary to the short ones that may take even shorter time than what a person would expect.

Among the many methods, the below two can work to dry the hair rather than use a blow dryer.

METHOD ONE

The following steps can be easily followed to dry the hair;

  • When through with bathing and still in the bathroom, just bend down and allow the hair to hang downwards to enable the water to drain. You can squeeze it to remove any excess water while still bending and ensure that it will not get twisted which again may cause breakage.
  • While still bending use a bit wide comb to comb the hair and make it stand out without tangling to avoid breakage. Once you feel it is light enough stand up and re-comb it again till the texture feels soft.
  • Use a dry towel to pat the hair gently all over the head and repeat this for at least two minutes.
  • Bend upside down once again and comb the hair as you allow it to have enough air access up to the scalp. Once you feel it has relaxed well, stand straight again and comb it gently. Do not be too harsh in any way because it combing it hard will damage the scalp and may lead to the hair breakage.
METHOD TWO

This is called blotting the hair dry, and the following steps should be followed;

  • Conditioning the hair- The conditioner is water repellant and promotes healthy hair. When still in the shower, apply some conditioner in your hair, and this will help the water to slide off and leave it dry. The conditioner also helps to ensure that the hair does not frizz when drying and leave in one should be applied and especially to the curly hairs.
  • Dry the hair before leaving the shower room- This is done by squeezing the excess water using your hand and use the fingers first to try and comb it to remove any tangle that may be forming. Comb it again in the strands, and this will help the hair strands to remain separate and promote fast drying.
  • Once this is successful, use a towel to complete the drying process. This is now the blotting part. The microfiber towel is highly recommended. However, if it’s not available, then use a super absorbent towel to ensure that the hair is completely dry.

Dry the hair by dividing it into many different segments, and each portion should be dried entirely using a separate section of the towel to make sure that you do not return the already absorbed moisture to another part which you also wish to wipe.

Ensure that you gently dry it to avoid breaking the cuticles.

  • Much emphasis should be laid on the roots of the hair, and the scalp sins the ends of the hair may even dry naturally using the natural method.

This can be done by blotting the roots of the hair entirely and using the comb to divide into several portions as you dry it gently.

  • Finally, use a broad tooth comb to comb the hair- This is highly recommended by the hair experts who argued that when this comb is used, it prevents frizzing to a great extent.

Use the fingers in separate g the hair strands and add any oil you wish to apply to make it look fine.

When this process is complete, do not touch it with your fingers but gently comb it out and leave it. This will leave a perfect look.
