Hair sprays from stores are some of the most chemical cosmetic products ever and they contain sulfates, aerosol, plastics, VOCs, coloring, excessive alcohol, etc. Likely, we have found natural and easy ways to make alternatives that will save you money and save you from using those unhealthy chemicals.
Alcohol Free Hair Spray
- 1 cup filtered water
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 6-8 drops essential oil
Heat the water in a small pan to boiling. Add the sugar and stir it to dissolve. Allow the mixture to cool. Add the essential oils. Place your new hair spray in a spray bottle.
Citrus and Lavender Hair Spray
- One orange (for dark hair) or one lemon (for light hair)
- 2 cups filtered water
- 2-3 tbsp high proof vodka
- 6-8 drops of lavender essential oil
Combine 2 cups water and chopped orange/lemon in a small pot and boil over medium high heat until it’s reduced by half. Strain the liquid into a measuring cup. Allow the mixture to cool. Mix the alcohol and essential oils in a small bowl, and then add to the cup of citrus juice. Pour the liquid into a spray bottle.
Aloe Vera Sugar Hair Spray
- 1 tbsp sugar
- ¼ cup hot water.
- 1/3 cup Aloe Vera Gel
In a small pot, on medium heat, boil the water and the sugar. Add the Aloe Vera Gel. Leave it to cool down and then put the liquid in a spray bottle.
