Café art is a UK initiative that helps homeless people to express themselves through art and photography. This July they gave 100 Fujifilm disposable cameras to the homeless in London and asked them to take photos themed “My London”.
More than 2500 photos were developed from the 85 returned cameras. Fujifilm, Amateur Photographer, the London Photo Festival, Christie’s and Homeless Link choose the best 20 photos and they’re starting a campaign to turn these photos into a 2016 calendar.
“All the money raised goes back into the project, either to pay for the printing of the photographs and calendar, rewarding the winning photographers, buying art materials for art groups affected by homelessness or helping individuals attend art courses,” explains Café art.
