Cupcakes Heaven: Chocolate Ferrero Rocher Cupcakes

We’re taking you to cupcakes heaven with this incredible recipe. We took the ordinary chocolate cupcakes, added the most delicious Ferrero Rocher and Nutella in the mix and got the best cupcakes ever! We need to warn you before you start doing them: they’ll be eaten in a minute!

Here’s what you need to prepare the Chocolate Ferrero Rocher Cupcakes:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cups vegetable oil
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 12 Ferrero Rocher (frozen)

For Chocolate Nutella Frosting:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1/3 cup Nutella
  • 4 oz. semisweet baking chocolate
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp vanilla

For Garnish:

  • 12 Ferrero Rocher

Preparation:

Line a cupcake pan with paper liners. Preheat our oven to 350F. Grab a large bowl and whisk the cocoa, flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. In another big bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the eggs, oil, buttermilk and vanilla extract. Add the dry ingredients and mix everything well.

Put 1 tbsp. of the batter in every cupcake liner and then place an unwrapped, frozen Ferrero Rocher. Add the remaining batter so that the liners are 2/3 full. Bake for 20 minutes. Let the cupcakes cool down completely before icing them.

Melt 4 oz chocolate and let it cool to room temperature. In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add the cream cheese and mix. Add the Nutella, cocoa, vanilla, salt and melted chocolate and mix everything well. Let the frosting cool in the fridge for 15minutes. Frost the cupcakes and garnish with Ferrero Rocher.
