8 Thoughtful Gifts for New Parents

First-time parents will be busy trying to buy and organize for their newborn. Baby showers should help address a lot of that, meaning they are likely to get a lot of baby toys, blankets, clothes and so on. But what about the parents?

Parents, especially the mom, deserve to get gifts as well. These are normally stuff to help them in taking care of their child. There are endless gift ideas for expectant parents, each differentiated according to budget and how family and friends would let their creative minds get to work. These do not have to be expensive but more functional and handy. Below are some of the possible gifts to consider.

  1. Baby Monitor. Parents need to be on their feet and keep track of their baby. Unlike the old days where folks would need to stay by the crib, baby monitors have given them added flexibility to monitor their child. This way, they can see if their baby is sleeping soundly or crying for some reason (i.e. hungry or in need of assistance.
  2. Bottle warmers. The best way to feed milk to a baby is to make sure that they are lukewarm. The reason behind this is to make sure that a baby is able to consume the infant formula at the ideal temperature. It is not really essential but nevertheless dandy for any parent.
  3. Baby Car Seat. At some point, parents can bring their baby along trips. While some would have the person on the passenger side carry the baby, a baby car seat could come in handy. Just make sure that they are properly strapped so that they are secured when a vehicle goes mobile.
  4. Strollers. Baby strollers are a no-brainer, something most parents would use when walking along the streets or even at malls. It helps secure the baby better rather than carrying them. At some point, a parent may find it hard to carry them and a stroller should do the trick to address such.
  5. Baby Bicycle Seat. For those who prefer to show their baby around on a bike, a baby bicycle seat should do the trick. They come in different forms and sizes, each varying according to comfort level, design and of course budget.
  6. Safety Gates. Adding another layer of security to your home once a baby starts walking is a need for parents. There will be paths to stairways where a child should not be near since it could result in bad falls and serious injuries. There are some that can be bought and others that can be fabricated. It is simply a must especially for homes that have stairs or steps that are not secured.
  7. Baby Carrier slings. Carrying a child is still the best way to transport a baby although carrier slings have now become a useful alternative. They will come in handy to help parents avoid back problems when carrying. It would be wise to make sure however that a child is properly placed and comfy as well.
  8. Pillows. Like babies, parents need rest. Body pillows go a long way, each varying depending on components such as materials used in creating them. They are overlooked presents for parents although they do get the job done for folks who eventually want to rest after a long day (or night) looking after their angel.
