6 Health Problems That Can Cause Bruises On Your Body

Do you notice bruises on your body that occur for no reason? Bruises occur when your capillaries are very thin and it’s not something you should neglect. There are some health problems that can cause unexplainable bruising and if you’re facing it, check it with your doctor.

Here are 6 health problems that can be the reason for unexplainable bruises on your body:

1. Blood diseases

Some vessel and blood disease can cause bruises. Diseases such as thrombocytopenia, varicose and leukemia can cause blood circulation problems and thus cause the appearance of bruises. If you notice bleeding gums, small capillary spots on your body and nosebleeds, immediately check it with your doctor.

2. Taking medication

Some medications such as analgetics, antidepressants, anti-asthmatic and anti-inflammatory, can cause the appearance of bruises. Aspirin can cause bruises too.

3. Lack of nutrients

Bruises can appear when your body lacks some necessary elements, such as vitamins and minerals. Vessels can become very fragile when the body lack vitamin B12, vitamin K and vitamin C. Another important vitamin is vitamin P which helps the production of collagen.

Capillaries can get worse when the body lack or there’s too much iron. Consume more pumpkins, apples, garlic and green tea for more vitamin P. Eggs, nuts, fatty fish and bananas contain a lot of vitamin K. Vitamin B12 can be found in cheese, lettuce, liver and fish.

4. Diabetes

People with diabetes are very prone to having bruises. Diabetes affects blood circulation, which makes people bruise easily. Also, unexplainable bruising can be a symptom of this disease.

5. Hormonal imbalance

When your body is low on estrogen, it can cause the appearance of bruises. Lack of estrogen weakens the blood vessels and damages the walls of capillaries. Hormonal imbalance occurs if you’re taking hormonal medication, you’re pregnant or you’re going through menopause.

6. Age related changes

The appearance of bruises can also be age related. As we age, the vascular system gets weak and our tissue loses its elasticity. The age related bruises mostly appear on the legs.
