5 Top Tips For Organizing The Perfect Girly Weekend

Getting away from the stresses and pressure of everyday life can be a healthy thing to do, and it can also be great fun if you rope along some of your favourite people. This summer, why not go all out and organise a girly weekend with your best friends to relax, unwind and make memories together? Below, we’ve put together some top tips for organising the perfect girly weekend.

Decide who to invite

Okay, we’ll start with the tricky one. The chances are that you’ve got a bunch of great friends, but not all of those friends get along and belong to the same friendship group. To make your girly weekend as fun and stress-free as possible, you’ll need to decide who you want to invite and who should be left at home. Just remember that, if you don’t invite one of your close friends and they find out about your trip via social media, they’ll be angry and you’ll need to explain why they weren’t invited. Nobody needs that awkwardness, so be strategic and play sensibly.

Find the right accommodation

As soon as you’ve decided who to bring along with you, the next obstacle to overcome is finding the right accommodation. There are thousands of options to consider; you could host the event at one of your houses, you could book an overseas trip to explore a whole new country, or you could even rent one of the large houses for holidays offered at Landed Houses. Whatever you pick, make sure there’s enough space for all of your friends and organise your transport in advance; rural destinations can be pretty difficult to get to if you’re not planning on driving.

Plan your activities

Once you’re sorted with your accommodation, it’s time to get planning your activities. Simply being with your friends over a glass of wine is often entertainment enough, but you should still organise a few fun trips to keep everyone in good spirits. If you’re staying in the United Kingdom you could organise a wine tasting class or a shopping trip; if you’re leaving the country, then you could stop by a museum, art gallery or cultural attraction to soak up some new sights. Oh, and think about the weather whenever you’re planning activities – if it rains or you can’t get there on time, then having a backup plan in place can leave you more relaxed and keep the party going.

Bring the snacks

We all need snacks. When you’re catching up with your girlfriends, it’s always a nice idea to have some finger food ready to soak up the alcohol. You could prepare fresh food when you get to your accommodation, like sandwiches, garlic bread, nachos and chicken wings, or you could visit the local supermarket and stock up on crisps, dips, chocolates, cakes and biscuits. Bring more than you think you’ll need, as it’s better to have too much than too little and remember some drinks to complement your snacks. As for meals, you could choose to visit a local farm shop on the way to your destination so that you can prepare delicious meals together, or you could take it easy and order takeaways and restaurant-prepared food if you don’t want to cook.

Shortlist the entertainment

If you don’t have much planned, then sitting around a warm fire with a Netflix movie is a lovely and relaxing idea – but getting ten girls to decide on the right film can be a pretty difficult thing to do. The same can be said for music – we all have different tastes and we might not want to listen to the same pop songs over and over again. Ask your friends to come up with some ideas for entertainment, shortlisting their favourite songs on a Spotify playlist and logging into Netflix to get a couple of movie ideas. If you go prepared, you won’t need to worry about late-night Netflix arguments and you’ll be able to binge your favourite shows together in peace and quiet!

There you have it – some of the things you’ll need to do if you want to organise a great girly weekend. Whatever you get up to, have a fantastic time!
