2 Climbers Rescued a Dog Lost For 6 Weeks High Up In The Mountains

This is a story about a 14-year old dog named Chloe that has run off while having a walk with his owner. They went to the east side of Mountain Bross. Normally, she was able to return home, but this time she hadn’t been seen for 6 long weeks. Her owners were devastated and spend weeks looking for her.

When Sean Nichols and Trinity Smith saw some reports from people who had been hearing a crying dog in the area of mountain Bross, they decided to go on a rescue mission.

They started climbing and after a few days, they found Chloe high atop the mountain. She was located pretty high, more than 14,000 feet above sea level and getting down a scared dog wasn’t an easy task at all.

“After hours and hours of yelling and climbing Sean Nichols & I finally brought this sweet, scared, hungry girl down to safety. The poor baby was stuck up there for over a month. After coming back down with her, Chloe’s owners were patiently waiting to see if this was their dog that they had been missing for 6 weeks. They assumed after a month of searching that their 14-year-old baby was gone forever,” Smith said.

Despite her age and the inhospitable surroundings, Chloe was alive. Smith and Nichols’ first order of business was to get her something to eat, and to spread the word that she’d been found.

“We got her!!!!” Smith posted on Facebook.

Chloe’s family got notice so quickly that she’d been rescued. Their reunion was truly heartbreaking.

“After rumors of a dog crying & 2 days of scrambling along the side of a 14er, we finally brought this sweet baby down to safety. This poor thing has been stranded high up on a cliff for over a month. She was once a 90 lb. dog who now weighs 26. Glad to have her off that mountain and back with her owners. She is currently back home, sleeping and eating and doing very well for the circumstances,” Smith said.
