Shelia Frederick from Alabama has become a true hero after she saved a young passenger from human trafficking on her flight from Seattle to San Francisco.
This quick-thinking woman noticed that something was wrong with this girl who was travelling with a much older man.
“Something in the back of my mind said something is not right,” Shelia told 10 News as she recalled the encounter from 2011. “He was well dressed, that’s what kind of got me because why is he well dressed and she is looking disheveled and out of sorts.”
Whenever she tried to talk to the girl, the man was answering instead of her. According to Shelia, she seemed to be around 14 or 15 years old and looked like she had been through the hell.
After several attempts, Frederich managed to tell the girl to visit the bathroom, where she’d left a note for her. The girl then replied with a note on the mirror saying “she needed help. Then, the flight crew alerted the police in San Francisco who were waiting in the terminal.
Thanks to this clever woman, the girl is free from trafficking and now is attending college.
