Combat Oily Eyelids and Make Your Makeup Last Longer

All those women with oily eyelids know best how hard it is to make the makeup last longer. Every person creates oils on the eyelids area, some less and some more.

“We all have numerous tiny oil glands at the eyelash line to add oil to our tear film. This oil-water emulsion provides lubrication to the eyes, and the oil prevents the water from evaporating”, explains Ava Shamban, M.D. dermatologist and clinical professor.

There isn’t a method that can completely solve this problem but there are ways you can reduce oil production.

Clean Face

Before applying anything on your face, you need to make sure that your skin is thoroughly clean. If there is some makeup residue left on your face and eyelids, it can cause more oiliness.

Right Skin Care

Once your face is thoroughly cleaned, it’s time for moisturizer. Remember to always check the ingredients on your eye cream and moisturizer before buying because some ingredients can cause oiliness. Don’t use creams that have extra oils during the day because they’ll ruin your makeup.

Don’t Put Creams on Your Eyelids

When applying cream on your face, avoid applying near the eyelid area. Cream applied directly on your eyelids will definitely cause more oiliness and will ruin your makeup look.
