Women Prefer Cuddling With Their Pets Over Their Partners

Most of us imagine that snuggling up with a partner on the couch can be a very relaxing and intimate affair that helps us cuddle and feel good. But according to recent studies most British women prefer snuggling up and cuddling their pets more than cuddling with their human partners.

This is particularly noteworthy given that a lot of people live alone and generally live longer. This experience is not limited to women, the poll included the same number of male and females.

It is not known though, if most of those polled are in relationships and simply made a deliberate decision to prioritize the pet over their partner or whether they are single pet owners who consider cuddling their pets just as satisfying as cuddling a potential partner.

Surprisingly the number of women who said this is a great and preferable experience stood at over 54% which was more than 16% higher than that of the male population. This may stem from the fact that cuddling up with your pet is an emotional experience devoid of tension, baggage and preconceptions that would be present if you were holding your partner. Cuddling a pet tends to be a less-demanding snuggling affair. With the rising costs of care and pet health insurance that can cost up to hundreds of dollars per month, many women are spending more on their pets than their romantic partners.

It was also revealed that roughly 10% of those polled said that they love their pets more than their partners. They are also known to spend an average of 400 pounds on their pets which is 100 pounds higher than what they spend on their partners. This may be explained by the fact that we buy gifts for our partners on special occasions while we can buy pet toys at any time of the day, week or year.

These numbers have stayed consistent over the years with 10% of women saying they prefer their pets to their man. This may be explained by the fact that they would expect less from their pets than from their man hence the level of disappointment with their pet is lower. These feelings of closeness to pets was proven to spike after a fight, meaning they still want to cuddle and snuggle but due to consider their partners as the emotionally closest thing at that point.

Pets over partners has always been frowned upon but given the short-lived nature of most modern relationships and the declining levels of trust, pets would probably be around longer than most boyfriends.

Having a pet also provides a way to release their sense of nurture and care in the event that they have longer periods in-between relationships. A pet is more like a child that you know, is not about to walk out on you or pick up fights.
