Malissa Sergent Lewis was late for work one day so she decided to take a shortcut. She was driving, rushing to get to work when she suddenly saw a moving garbage bag. She decided to stop her car and see what’s inside that black bag. What she found in there was quite shocking.
“I saw this trash bag in the road, and I thought to myself, ‘Did I just see that bag move?’ The closer I got, I realized it was moving. I could hardly wrap my mind around that. Something was alive in that bag, and I just knew I had to get whatever it was out,” said Lewis.
Malissa opened the bag and found an abandoned puppy in it. She took the puppy in and tried to find its owners. Since no one called, Malissa and her family decided to keep the small puppy and give him a happy life. They named the puppy Hefty and now he is finally loved and happy.
