Who would think that pest control could solve problems not only for our home and physical health, but take care of psychological problems too? There are an infinite amount of different phobias and fears in the world, so it may not come as a big surprise that fear of pests is no exception.

  1. Chiroptophobia – The fear of bats. Not really a pest, but bats can be a huge annoyance if they nest in your loft.
  2. Musophobia – The fear of mice. A lot of us (girls especially) have a tendency to experience this fear, but even the biggest rodent can scare us all!
  3. Pediculophobia – The fear of lice. This is experienced by more people than you might think.
  4. Katsaridaphobia – The fear of cockroaches. The main cause of this fear is a negative experience. Even experiencing someone else’s distaste for them can trigger you to have a fear.
  5. Peristerophobia – The fear of pigeons. This is a very, very common problem, and there’s even websites dedicated to treatments!
  6. Myrmecophobia – The fear of ants. Some people can be absolutely terrified by ants.
  7. Acarophobia – The fear of insects whose bites cause itching, like mosquitoes and fleas.
  8. Arachnophobia – The most well known of them all, the fear of spiders. It’s one of the most popular fears, and even gives its name to a movie!
  9. Pteronarcophobia – The fear of flies.
  10. Spheksophobia – The fear of wasps. This one isn’t very surprising, as wasp stings can be massively painful and can cause analphylactic shock, which is potentially fatal for people who suffer from severe allergies.
