Here-is-How-You-Should-Remove-Makeup-the-Dermatologist-Way-1

1. Removing Makeup is a Must

Removing makeup is essential for skin care. Although it’s OK to slip once in a while, remember that you must remove makeup every day.  Otherwise, your pore-clogging potential is high threatening your skin health.  Smog, pollutants, free radicals, and other toxins that riddle the air blissfully cling to your rouge, wreaking cosmetic havoc by destroying collagen. If you are feeling like you can’t wash your face thoroughly, at least use fragrance-free facial cleansing wipes to remove the makeup before bed.

2. Steam

If you have plenty of time before going to bed, steaming is a great way that can help you remove makeup. Steaming opens the pores, loosening up bacteria, grime, and your favorite foundation. This way can ease the cleansing of your face.

3. Soak

Mascara is the worst in the makeup removal process. Sometimes, it just doesn’t want to come out. Do not scrub it aggressively, especially around your delicate eyelid skin, it can leave you with broken capillaries, puffiness, and permanent dark circles. Just hold a pad with eye makeup remover gently over the area for 5 seconds so that it saturates any makeup you may have on. Then swipe, softly!

4. Double Cleanse With Oil

Use an oil-based cleanser for double cleanse of skin to minimize the irritation. Proceed with using a moisturizing, pH neutral, non-soap wash to restore the skin lipids and proteins. If you have dry or sensitive skin, hydrate the skin with micellar water. Micellar water consists of tiny missiles (minuscule oil molecules) in soft water. No wash-off is needed. If you have oily skin use a motorized cleansing brush to exfoliate.

5. Soothe

Once you have finished cleansing, dry your skin with a soft towel, but remember not to rub your face. Apply a nourishing night cream to help restore your skin during sleep.
