How to Recognize Fake Honey

Honey is the cheapest health you can buy and that’s why you shouldn’t save any money when you buy the bees gold. The honey, that’s sold in the shops is an industry and it’s often fake. It’s cheap to buy, but you won’t get any health benefits from it. Honey producers successfully use people’s lack of knowledge to gain more money while offering low-standard honey.

If you don’t know how to make a difference between fake and original honey, beekeepers have a few tips for you:

  1. Put some honey in a spoon. Hold the spoon above the flame of a burning candle until the honey starts boiling. If the honey start to boil and doesn’t change its color then it’s original. If the honey turns darker or starts to smell like sugar then it’s fake.
  2. In a small pot, add 2 tbsp. honey. Add 6 tbsp. alcohol and put the pot on the stove for 10 minutes. If you notice white sediment on the bottom of the pot that means the honey is fake.
  3. In a glass put 1 tbsp. honey and 1 tbsp. distilled water. Mix well and add a few drops of iodine. If the mixture turns blue, then the honey is fake.

Fake honey is mainly consisted of crystal sugar and that’s why you shouldn’t save money when it comes to buying honey.
