To find out the answer of this, an online local services marketplace, Bidvine carried a survey in the UK and found out they could earn more than £80,000 a year. Unbelievable isn’t it. Let’s find out how they came to this conclusion?
The local services company surveyed 1,200 British mothers and asked them what they do for their kids on daily basis and how much time they require to complete each task. They found out that a mother in UK usually spends around 4 hours for cleaning and basic arrangements, 2 hours to cook food and 1 hour to clean clothes. Besides, they have to be ready to answer the calls of their kids 24/7.
Around 44% who took part in the survey revealed they own a pet and out of these 2/3rd told they are fully responsible of their pets from feeding, bathing to walking. This adds in extra effort they have to put to complete their daily cores.
Besides, 74% mothers believed they have to take care of each and every task around the house including gardening, repairing and stuff, while 67% felt that their children are fully dependent on them. This is mostly the case with single moms, who also have to manage stress to keep up with the daily tasks.
The online services marketplace is a platform for local service providers who get jobs by bidding on the projects published by local residents on Bidvine. There is every type of professional on the site including builders, electricians, cleaners, photographers, caterers, personal trainers, English tutors and many others. All these service providers are being listed on the site too for anyone to contact and ask for work. Bidvine searched its database and got data of their hourly rates for each task they perform. These hourly rates then were converted to daily rate and later were worked up to get a yearly figure. When these rates were matched up with the statistics from the survey, they found out that a mother can earn around £83,427 per year to perform the daily tasks for their kids.
That’s a huge sum of money, which is usually earned by retail managers, bank managers and medical specialists in UK.
The purpose of the survey was to highlight the significance of mothers in the development of children and make them a productive member of the society. They can easily earn this much money per year if they put all these efforts on a profession/business. We should all be thankful, God has bestowed us with mothers who do not ask for anything in return of bringing us up.
