A Man Climbed Up A Building To Save A Dog Dangling On The 13th Floor

This incredible man from Columbia showed an extraordinary act of heroism and put his life on the line to save a dog from death.

Diego Andres Davila Jimenez was sitting in his apartment on the 13th floor in Bogota when he got a call. Luna, the next-door neighbor’s dog, has slipped from her balcony and was hanging by her hips and back legs between the rails.

“I hurried to tell my neighbor, but she wasn’t home. So I decided to act,” says Jimenez.

Diego couldn’t get to the dog from his own apartment so he got a permit to go in the apartment downstairs to help.

Diego tried to move Luna to safety using a broom, but he failed. When he saw that his plan wasn’t working, he started climbing.

“People on the ground were screaming. They had a mattress out just in case. The truth is, I did not think about the dire consequences. I did not look down. When I had Luna in my hands and looked down, a thousand thoughts flew through my mind. My girlfriend was a little upset, yelling at me, ‘You stay there! Do not climb back down!'” said Diego.

Diego waited for Luna’s owner to come back home: “She was in tears. She is very grateful, because she just adores that dog.”
