Pay attention to every tooth. As for brushing, there is no particular technique. Just move your toothbrush from the base of the tooth towards its edge. The optimal time for cleaning teeth is about two minutes. Don’t be too active; you can wipe off the enamel.

Pick The Right Toothbrush And Paste

Your toothbrush must have synthetic bristles with rounded tips and a comfortable handle for your hand. The stiffness of the bristles should fit your enamel and gums. Do not use stiff bristles. And if you’re suffering from sensitive teeth or bleeding gums, use a brush with soft bristles.

It’s also important to choose the right toothpaste. People with sensitive teeth can’t use highly abrasive toothpaste. A standard one will bring no harm, but there will be no benefits from it either. Each person’s oral microflora is different, so everyone should choose toothpaste individually.

Clean Your Whole Mouth

Teeth damaging bacteria live not only on the teeth and gums but also on your palate, cheeks, tonsils, and on the tongue. So try to clean everything you can and not only with your toothbrush. To clean the tongue, use a teaspoon. Don’t forget about mouthwash that kills bacteria and refreshes breath at the same time.

Use Dental Floss

If the teeth grow smoothly and firmly, their side surfaces and the gaps between them are out of reach even for most “advanced” toothbrushes. Meanwhile, these areas become home to bacteria. Caries that develops between two teeth can only be found by a dentist, and its treatment is difficult. The dental floss helps you reach such areas, cleaning the remains of food and killing all the bacteria that have already settled there. Always use dental floss before brushing your teeth and after having a meal.

Eat Right

You can forget about healthy teeth if the body lacks fluoride and calcium. Calcium is digested with the help of vitamin D, which is synthesized by the body under ultraviolet light or comes from food. So try to remember: veal, poultry, eggs, butter, and sea fish are a source of vitamin D. Yogurt, cheese, spinach, and broccoli are a source of calcium. Black tea, wholemeal bread, and fish contain fluoride. Include them in your diet, and your teeth will remain healthy for a long time. If your organism still needs calcium or fluoride, use supplements, vitamins, and minerals.
