5 Ways Milk and Dairy Products Are Making You Sick

Are you a milk lover and think that milk does only good for your body? Well, you might be wrong. New researches continue to appear suggesting that drinking cow milk is not really good for us and it’s not really natural. The studies claim that 65-75% of the human population has reduced ability to digest lactose after infancy.

These new findings make sense because every other species, except humans, drink milk only as infants and never again for the rest of their lives.

Katherine S. Pollard, PhD., from the University of California shares the fact that some humans, during human evolution,  experience a mutation in the lactose LTC genes. These gene mutations are the ones that allow us to process lactose as adults. People aren’t born with LTC genes, they develop it later in life.

Sofia Ochoa, MD and biochemistry professor at the University of Guadalajara’s School of Medicine in Mexico is explaining the 5 ways milk and dairy products are making you sick.

Here’s the list:

1. Dairy can lead to bone problems

Milk and dairy products are considered to be good for our bones because they contain calcium. On the other hand, raw kale contains a lot more calcium than milk.

“Not only has the body of scientific evidence been found inadequate to support the idea that dairy consumption promotes bone health, but numerous large-scale studies have found that consuming dairy may actually be detrimental to bone health. In fact, there is substantial data linking higher milk intake with significantly increased risk of bone fractures.” – explain Sofia Pineda Ochoa, MD.

2. Dairy contains casein, which increases the risk of cancer

Studies have shown that casein, the main protein found in dairy, facilitates the development and growth of cancer.
The hormone called 1GF-1 which promotes cell division in cancer cells, grows up when you consume animal proteins. Some scientists are even asking FDA to approve fasting because fasting and caloric restriction with a plant-based diet can significantly lower the IG-1 hormones.

3. It contains hormones even if it’s organic

Commercial cow’s milk contains a lot of estrogen and progesterone, which is not good for your body. Another concern is that people genetically alter cows to produce more milk continuously. Even the milk that’s labeled organic contains high levels of harmful antibiotics that are naturally produced by cows. Pediatricians are concerned that ordinary intake of cow milk during childhood can cause early sexual maturation. Many studies have shown that constant dairy consumption can increase the risk of getting uterine, ovarian, breast and prostate cancer.

4. Even pasteurized milk contains microorganisms

Dairy and milk products are a perfect breeding ground for microorganisms. Not even the pasteurization process can prevent them. Dairy mostly contain E. Coli, Salmonella and Listeria. Even the food regulatory agencies don’t expect the milk to be completely microorganism-free. They know that the pasteurization only reduces the amount of microorganisms.

5. Increases the risk of type 2 diabetes and sclerosis

Our immune system is built to protect us from microbes and harmful substances. When it loses the ability to recognize those harmful substances from normal cells and tissues, it can cause attacks against our own bodies. Milk and dairy products have been linked with increased risk of many immune-related disorders, many of them difficult to treat and life-changing. One study has shown that cow’s milk contains triggering factors of type 1 diabetes and MS (Multiple Sclerosis).
