4 Skin Conditions You Can Get on Your Vagina

That itching sensation down there couldn’t be a sign of anything good and if it’s accompanied by unusual spots and rash, you might be having a bad skin condition. Angela Lamb, M.D, explains that dermatology issues can occur even below the belt.

Here are 4 skin conditions that can affect your lady parts:

1. Eczema

Eczema always comes accompanied with inflammation and uncomfortably dry skin. Eczema on your vagina looks like itchy, red rash and is generally autoimmune-related.

2. Psoriasis

Psoriasis can affect lady parts too. The most common psoriasis that impacts the genitals is called inverse psoriasis and it’s accompanied by dry and smooth red lesions. Although there’s no cure for psoriasis, you can ease the pain with steroids and non-steroid topical treatments.

3. Contact Dermatitis

That new amazingly smelling body wash could be the reason for the red and itchy rash down there. Using too many perfumes or soaps in this area can cause dermatitis. When your skin gets in contact with substances  it doesn’t like, it will become itchy and red and small blisters will appear. Remember, use only unscented soaps below your belt.

4. Vitiligo

Yes, you can get vitiligo on your vagina too. Unfortunately, this is an autoimmune disease and it can’t be treated. You can also use medications to stop the spreading of the white patches.
